Lean beef and veggies are a great combination anytime of the year and this Thai Basil Beef Stir Fry recipe will keep you coming back time and again. When you’re looking for a quick and easy meal to prepare that you know tastes great but also includes all the elements for a well-balanced dinner or lunch, this Thai Basil Beef Stir Fry is an absolute winner.

💡 What’s the difference between Thai Basil and “normal” basil? In terms of taste, Thai basil has a more licorice smell with a slightly spicy taste compared to Genovese basil (the kind you’d typically find in Italian cooking). It has sturdy, resilient leaves that stand up well to extended cooking times and prolonged heat.

🍽 4 serves | ⏱ 30 minutes

  • 1½ tbsp salt-reduced soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp chilli jam (optional)
  • 500g lean beef (cut into strips)
  • 2 tbsp olive or peanut oil

  • 1 large carrot, grated
  • 200g green beans, thinly sliced
  • 1 red capsicum, chopped
  • ½ cup Thai basil, torn
  • 440g thin egg noodles
