Julia Phillips has been working as a clinical dietitian for the last 15 years and has joined our team to bring her wealth of experience as our metabolic specialist dietitian.  

Julia appreciates the importance of nurturing the dietitian-client relationship and is a passionate advocate for using nutrition to manage all parts of the metabolic spectrum including weight management, diabetes, high blood pressure, fatty liver, and high cholesterol.   

Being a working mum, Julia understands the challenges around achieving a strong work/life balance and that often, as a parent, our own health tends to fall by the wayside.  Julia is able to help you navigate your own health goals and develop a plan that is achievable for you.  Julia takes a holistic view of health and is committed to normalising the multitude of health messages relating to metabolic syndromes, and bringing it back to what will effectively help you achieve your health goals. 

Julia has worked extensively within the Sydney hospital system – there is no medical condition she hasn’t seen; you may need to rebuild muscle tissue and strength after a long hospital admission. Julia can advise you on the correct nutrition therapy to aid in recovery from hospital or intense treatments such as cancer therapies or major surgery.  Perhaps you’re struggling to manage gastrointestinal symptoms of bloating, diarrhoea or constipation? There are many different options to help with this and Julia can advise which is the best strategy for you. She has also personally lived with inflammatory arthritis and uses dietary principles and exercise to help manage her own symptoms and stay well.

She has trained over 300 student dietitians and has been a guest lecturer in the Dietetics course at the University of Wollongong. She is an absolute asset to our team of dietitians.
