QUALIFICATIONS FOR ALEXANDRA MCCLELLAND

Bachelor of Science (Nutrition & Psychology)
Graduate Diploma Biomedical Science
Masters of Science (Nutrition & Dietetics)
University of Wollongong

Alexandra McClelland is a local, having been born, raised and spent her entire career in St George and the Sutherland Shire areas.

She graduated from the University of Wollongong with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics.

Alex has been a dietitian for nearly 20 years. She was a senior dietitian at St George Hospital (working in all areas of the hospital from ICU to rehabilitation, paediatrics to aged care). She went on to lecture in the Dietetics course at UoW for 7 years and has supervised and mentored over 200 students and newly graduated dietitians.

Founding The Eatwise Clinics (formerly SS Diets and Southern Sydney Dietetics) in 2007, Alexandra has seen thousands of local residents and is recommended by local GPs, surgeons, physicians as well as friends or family members of current/previous clients. She is recognized by ANZAED (Australia New Zealand Academy of Eating Disorders) as an Eating Disorder Credentialed Dietitian and is certified by MONASH University as a Certified Eating Disorder Clinician (CEDC).

Alexandra’s broad foundational experience, extensive counselling skills and diverse food knowledge accumulate to a wealth of knowledge she will draw on to advise you on how to best achieve your goals. She fundamentally believes in ensuring you receive information that is scientifically based, easy to understand, and (most importantly) simple to implement.

She ensures you are able to apply any recommended changes to your diet, your family and your lifestyle. Alexandra believes in keeping up-to-date with the latest research and scientific advances, while also keeping an eye on changes in typical Australian diets and crazy messages on social media (which mostly only add to confusion and frustration).

Outside of Dietetics, Alexandra is a ‘foodie’, there are very few restaurants in Sydney she hasn’t visited. She enjoys snowboarding and regularly leads her team on long charity walks including the 45km Coastrek (for Beyond Blue) & The 35km Bloody Long Walk (for Mito Foundation).
